Regardless of weekdays or holidays, at construction sites D4 and D5 of the Phenikaa University project, HVCgroup's staff closely followed every progress milestone, worked overtime, and focused resources to complete the work. Just in time for the new academic year, the general contractor package for supplying and installing the electromechanical systems at this construction site was completed, and HVC is currently coordinating with the investor to conduct acceptance testing with the Inspection Department.
Phenikaa University is a high-quality, multidisciplinary private university located in Duong Noi Ward (Hanoi City), operating under a unique "School - Hospital - Enterprise" model with investment from the Phenikaa Group. In recent years, to meet the needs of development, improve the quality of education and training, and provide practical experience for students and faculty, Phenikaa University has invested heavily in modern facilities. These include the D4 Dormitory Complex and the D5 Commercial and Service Staff Housing.
As previously reported, HVCgroup is the general contractor for this project, undertaking the "Supply and installation of electromechanical systems for the D4 Dormitory and D5 Commercial and Service Staff Housing under the Phenikaa University Construction Project". Specifically, HVC is responsible for the electrical, low-voltage, water supply and drainage, and air conditioning systems.
The D4 Dormitory and D5 Commercial Service Staff Housing project is located on a plot of land exceeding 7,200 m², with a total floor area of nearly 34,414 m². Both D4 and D5 are 15 stories high, sharing one basement level and a three-story podium. The basement has a floor area of approximately 4,200 m², housing parking and technical spaces; the three-story podium serves as a commercial and service area.
The D4 dormitory building, from the 4th to the 15th floor, is allocated as accommodation for students studying at Phenikaa University. Meanwhile, the D5 staff housing building has floors 4 to 12 as rest areas for staff, employees, and international experts coming for collaborative research; floors 13 to 15 are allocated as offices, combining living and working spaces.
At buildings D4 and D5, HVC constructed the mechanical and electrical systems for the basement, the three podium levels, and the upper floors. Based on the specific needs of each building, HVC implemented a comprehensive M&E system, prioritizing ease of operation and use. For D4, the M&E systems were designed to suit the student accommodation model, while at D5, HVC optimized the system to meet the diverse and convenient requirements of the student residences, offices, and living spaces.

Throughout the period of active implementation, regardless of weekdays or holidays, the HVCgroup staff closely followed each progress milestone, worked overtime, and focused resources to complete the work. To date, the project has officially "reached the finish line," ensuring the progress committed to the investor, ready to be put into operation to serve the new school year and the 19th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad (IOAA 2026), taking place at Phenikaa University from September 25th to October 5th, 2026.
“During the construction process, HVC received support and favorable conditions from the investor, but the project management board still noted many challenges. Specifically, the design was adjusted several times according to the new functional requirements, causing changes to the technical systems and making it difficult to finalize the shop drawings. For items without pre-existing designs, HVC proactively assigned technical staff to coordinate and work directly with the Project Management Board to quickly finalize the drawings, creating an accurate basis for ordering equipment and organizing construction on site,” Mr. Cuong said.
According to Mr. Cuong, before officially awarding the D4 and D5 electromechanical complex contract to HVC Group, the investor conducted a rigorous assessment and evaluation of the contractor's capabilities. During the implementation phase, Phenikaa continued to closely monitor both the progress and quality of construction. At the acceptance stage, the Project Management Board demanded meticulous attention to detail: from the arrangement of equipment in the module cabinets, the order of circuit breakers, the placement of switches and sockets, the LAN network system, to the connection points for lighting fixtures and electrical cabinets… Thanks to its experience and expertise, HVC met all the technical requirements and standards set by the investor.
“Currently, the construction process is complete, and HVC is actively coordinating with the investor and working with the Inspection Department to facilitate the acceptance process. Afterward, HVC will continue to review and rectify any remaining issues (if any) before officially handing over the project to the investor. Once operational, the D4 and D5 complex is expected to contribute to providing a comfortable and modern living, learning, and working space for Phenikaa staff, lecturers, and students in the new academic year; and simultaneously meet the accommodation needs of hundreds of members from over 70 delegations from countries and territories around the world participating in the 19th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2026),” said Mr. Lai The Cuong.
