In recent days, Typhoon No. 3 Yagi and the post-storm circulation have caused widespread heavy rain in the Northern region, especially in the mountainous and midland provinces, causing heavy damage to people and property, seriously affecting production and people's lives.
In order to support people in flooded areas to overcome the consequences after the storm, recently, HVC Investment and Technology Joint Stock Company (HVC Group) came to Tu Hiep commune (Ha Hoa district, Phu Tho province) and directly delivered 50 valuable gifts to severely affected families.
At this event, Ms. Vu Thi Nga - Deputy General Director of HVC Group sent greetings, encouragement, and condolences for the damage and loss that local people are suffering. Ms. Nga hopes that HVC's assistance will partly help the people of Tu Hiep commune regain their spirit, overcome difficulties and quickly stabilize their lives.
It is known that Tu Hiep commune has an area of nearly 32km2. During the recent “historic” flood, water from Thao River overflowed into the dike, causing 311 households to be flooded at the depth of 3 - 7m. There were also many landslides in the locality, including one landslide that killed one person.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Do - Chairman of Tu Hiep Commune People's Committee said: "Tu Hiep is considered as the "flood navel" area of Ha Hoa district in particular and Phu Tho province in general. Water level rose quickly and receded slowly, leaving 686 households isolated and all property severely damaged; Rescue work, providing food and necessities were extremely difficult.
The people of Tu Hiep commune live mainly on farming. Due to the impact of storms and floods, more than 165 hectares of their rice crop were completely lost. After the water receded, local leaders and people quickly began working to overcome the consequences. Currently, people's lives are still very difficult. Commune authorities and departments at all levels are always concerned with the problem of long-term economic support so that people do not suffer from food and clothing shortages."
At the ceremony, leaders of Tu Hiep commune also sent deep thanks to the Board of Directors and HVC Group staff for promptly caring and sharing difficulties and damages with the locality.
Attending early to receive the gift of support from HVC Group, Ms. Nguyen Thi Sen emotionally shared: "During the recent flood, my house was flooded up to the roof but fortunately, local leaders supported me to relocate promptly. However, the water rose too quickly, causing property and furniture in the house to be damaged and swept away. During the hardship, we received a lot of attention and encouragement from people across the country. Especially today, when we received a material gift from the company, we don't know what to say other than sincere thanks. This is a meaningful source of encouragement for us to overcome difficulties."
